characters Elias author Erin E. Keller ´ eBook, PDF or Kindle ePUB After his partner’s death Thomas Doyle lives a life made of work and late night sexual encounters with unnamed bodies It’s a life of solitude that leaves him too much time to think. Elias ARC was graciously provided to me by IndiGo Marketing Design for an honest review I have voluntarily read this book and have provided my honest opinion Through the Arms of a Warm Embrace Wow I m kind of speechless right now andthat really doesn t happen that very often I just finished reading an upcoming very good book It s a book that contains one of my most favorite tropes It s about a somewhat older man who comes to the aide of a slightly younger man The story delves into the lives of both men as they both attempt to come to terms with their past while trying to continue with their future This book is called Elias by Erin E Keller and as I ve never read anything by this author before and I m glad to have come across this very interesting and gripping story Elias is a story filled with heart break sadness heart ache abuse and strength I was initially drawn to this book through its cover This stunningly beautiful cover spoke volumes when I first came across it Because of this I just had to find out what was actually running through the mind of that beautiful and seemingly haunted young man Elias is about two men Thomas Doyle and Elias Byrne two struggling souls who are trying to survive as a result of very different circumstances which have caused both men to stutter through countless difficult times and because of this finally realize they actually need help Taking place in Ireland Thomas finds himself barely surviving after the untimely passing of his long time love As he resolutely tries to occupy his mind and body through working long hours as a police officer and visiting a local pub he finds that this strategy doesn t always seem to work for him On one of those days he comes across Elias Like a young savior who s been thrust into his life this young man with the beautiful name who in fact is a very lost and desperate young man because of a haunted and difficult life begins to help Thomas even as he also continues to try by the thin skin of his fingers tolive Throughout this cat and mouse story both men try to deal with life s strong and constricting arms which have found a way to firmly wrap themselves around both men As life at times gets to be too much for both men they began to realize that they are in need of something Something warm and protective Something that would serve as a healing mechanism in order to provide them with a means of actually healing Throughout reading this book I found myself either melting or crying or even both as the writing had successfully described the absolutely incredible need for help for actual warmth the need for the simple presence of another human being a warm body to provide some sort of comfort instead of the isolation or the worthlessness the men had been drowning in Wow right As I read I sat with grabby hands so as to try and grab out for both men so that I could be there for them throughout their difficult journey Their actual storyline was incredible In this story there were limited secondary characters And the one that did exist while at times was very helpful was for the most part annoying and for this there was a strong wish for additional secondary characters to even it all out While this story has a great storyline it really needs another run through with the editing process as there had existed issues with syntax pace and overall mechanics that had contributed to an emotional detachment to the plot as a whole I absolutely loved the premise of this story I also absolutely loved Elias and Thomas Throughout reading their story I couldn t figure out if it would be a standalone or a series At this particular juncture it looks like it may be a standalone with tons of insta love I m still hoping for a series for these two characters because I felt like the story had so much potential with many different avenues which could be taken For example I would have loved to have seen of a description of Ireland and the village that Thomas and Elias seem to be living in their prospective jobs friends and even of a description of the large home which was so important to Thomas I m so glad to have read this book and hope to re visit it sometime in the future as it is such an incredible story with a great storyline and wonderful main characters that has me itching to revisit them once againstar rating 395 I really liked it stars

characters Elias author Erin E. Keller ´ eBook, PDF or Kindle ePUB And regretYet despite everything he jealously treasures itThat’s why when Elias Byrne who comes out of the shadows of Thomas’ nights suddenly bursts into his everyday life with arro. This story reuired a bit of reader orientation and sometimes reorientation but it had such good bones I noted that this is a republish and not the first I was wishing that the author had a strong editor and eually accomplished beta readersThe setting is Ireland where we meet Thomas a 38 year old police detective with a panic disorder An unlikely situation to be sure Thomas s partner of 10 years died suddenly in a crash two years earlier and since that time he distanced himself from friends colleagues in an attempt to protect himself from further grief paralyzing grief The result was overwhelming lonelinessEnter young Elias a thin waif of a young man who seemed to turn up wherever Thomas was What we don t know or understand initially was the attraction Why is Elias following Thomas and what does he want Thomas main goal each day is really to protect himself from loss and from pain and he can t at all understand why this young man is somehow always aroundSince the death of his parents Elias has been managed by his brother and not in a brotherly way There are triggers with on page assault and attempted rape Elias has internalized the abuse and somehow feels that he is at fault He is ashamed of himself his life and than that he is filled with overwhelming hopelessness He lives in hell on earth and he has no expectation of improvement Whenever he can get away from home he enjoys a pub called the Black Sheep where Elias watches people perhaps to feel somehow included in their lives As he observes interactions in The Black Sheep pub he notices a man Thomas who seems to be unattached yet someone who is liked by most everyone Somehow after speaking with Thomas men seem happy calmer and Elias wants a little of that peace for himselfAs I said this story has good bones The main characters are well developed and we do after a time come to understand these frustrating men Trust is a theme Thomas doesn t trust much not even that he will make it home each day Elias doesn t trust that Thomas will help him so he doesn t even ask Each tried to protect the otherFor a reader who appreciates angst this story will be perfect The age gap between Thomas and Elias serves to further illustrate their differences and the missing pieces in their lives Despite some of the at times jarring inconsistencies these are two needy damaged men who find exactly what they need in each other

characters Elias author Erin E. Keller ´ eBook, PDF or Kindle ePUB Gance Thomas finds himself fighting against ambivalent feelings the need to reject the tormented Elias and the strange inconceivable and difficult to accept desire to join their solitud. A blurb that hints at hurtcomfort an Irish setting and an eye catching cover had me wanting to read Elias by Erin E Keller in the worst way It didn t hurt that the author s first name is Erin either I have a real soft spot for hurtcomfort reads There s just something about a character or two who overcome past pain loss or trauma to find their happily ever after that just really gets to me Add in an age gap and yeah I m your girl If there are ever two characters who need some comfort and some happiness it s Elias and Thomas I was immediately drawn to Thomas He s recently unexpectedly lost his husband due to a car accident Together they d bought an old house they wanted to turn into a bed and breakfast now Thomas lives in the big rambling house alone He spends his time working as a police officer and when he s not working and the loneliness becomes too much he freuents the local gay club for company The sex is empty but at least for a few moments he can forget His freuent panic attacks come out of nowhere but he s so used to them he s able to notice the signs when one is forthcoming During one of these times he meets the strange but beautiful Elias Elias was a very uniue character At twenty three he s much younger than Thomas but Elias doesn t care He s noticed Thomas when he s come into the club and after he borderline stalks him decides to finally approach the man he s been wanting for so long I have to admit Elias was a difficult character to connect to His thought processes and speech pattern made it very hard to understand his motivations or really get beneath the surface I felt sorry for him sure he s been abused both mentally and physically for a long time so he s uite damaged but even with that it wasn t easy to get a clear picture of him as a person I liked the premise of the story but it fell just a bit short from being a knock out for me Keller s writing style is at times very beautiful but at others kind of inconsistent and simple I definitely would have liked to feel of a connection to both Thomas and Elias however this was a short easy to read and enjoyable bookthis review will also be posted on wwwdiversereaderblogspotcom
